Stuff I like in August

This is a bit of a different blog post. Instead of a big long essay... Here are some things I've enjoyed this month! A nice light and airy post while I finish my dissertation!

First up is Oh Comely magazine issue twenty-one, which is all about gardens and has an interview with Daniel Radcliffe! Hooray!

Next is a delicious recipe filled book Mexican Food Made Simple by Thomasina Miers. Current favourites are green rice and squash and chorizo tacos! Mmmmm...

Mmmm, we had a chunky beef chilli with green rice last week. Delish!

I don't have many pennies at the moment but I got myself a little treat in the form of two pink Rimmel nail polishes, Coralicious and Hot Tropicana. They make a great little pick-me-up on gloomy dissertation days.

Another makeup bit this month, which I actually received as a birthday present in January! Honeypie Minerals powder foundation has been a delight to use along with a nice big Ecotools powder blush. It's nice and light for summer months and for people who like a lighter touch with their makeups!

A book! A children's book! This gem was on sale for like £1.99 or something an I couldn't resist. The first in the All the Wrong Questions series by Lemony Snicket. The illustrations are by comic artist Seth and they are a treat to behold...

Oooh lovely illustrations. There are quite a few full plate illustrations throughout along with chapter headers. I haven't read it all yet, I admit I've mainly been oohing and ahhing at the pictures.

Adventure Time has been keeping me entertained with its little nuggets of brilliance every week. This is what my life feels and looks like at the moment. So. Much. Reading...

The Commonwealth Games were in Glasgow and there were so many things to do all over the city... And I actually did some of them! The old Kelvingrove Bandstand is back up and running and it is just so nice! We had a lovely evening watching Roddy Hart & The Lonesome Fire play and it only rained a little bit. I'm hoping to catch a few more things there before the summer's out.
Well that's it for now! Hope you enjoyed :)
